SESSIONS IN THE WILD

BREATH CIRCLE: CAROLYNE MEEHAN

Connect to the wisdom of your body through ritual, music and breath. I will guide you through an active form of meditation, using the breath to take us into a deeply healing and transformative state. We call this breathwork because it does take some work to stay with the breath and to allow yourself to be with the emotions/memories/sensations that can surface through the journey.  Above all, this is a practice in embodied love and self-compassion.  I will provide guidance and support as you breathe with light touch, essential oils, and a cosmic playlist. I close our practice by playing and singing for you. The beauty of practicing breathwork in circle is to witness one another and to let yourself be witnessed; to be with and honor your own sacred breath alongside others who are doing the same. You are invited to bring a small item for our altar: a stone, a piece of jewelry, a flower, a poem. We will close our circle by speaking our intentions and new knowings aloud.

HERBS ON FIRE! BURNING PLANTS WITH PURPOSE FOR MEDICINE, PLEASURE AND CEREMONY: BRIEL BEATY

Just as we put herbs into water to make tea or into alcohol to make tinctures, fire and heat can also be used to extract medicinal properties. The combination of fire and herbs have been used throughout human history all across the globe. In this class, we will learn about the common plants brought to fire, put them into historical/culture context and explore the variety of ways these plants can be brought to heat and flame. We will also discuss herbal smoking blends and how they can play a role to support someone in the process of quitting cigarettes/tobacco. We will cover Mugwort, Mullein, Sage and Sumac and many others in this interactive class!

EARLY RISER YOGA & POETRY: MICHELE MARCHETTI

Join Michele for a sloooow flow, ease-into-your-morning class with plenty of space to unwind tension and experience pure relaxation. Close all the open windows in your mind as you tune into your breath, birdsong, and our beautiful surroundings. Perfect for all levels, all bodies, and those relatively new to yoga, this flow will start with some simple balancing postures, transition into asanas that will open our hips and ease our backs, and end on the earth with a long deep relaxation followed by Sun Moon Breath and poetry.

DIALED IN: LYNN THEODOSE

The Love is in the details! We’ll move slowly and mindfully with a focus on asana refinement. Explore how small foundational details help clear your energy channels to better receive wisdom transmissions from the ancient masters and your own heart. Keep fine-tuning your antenna, and the message grows crisper and clearer!

PLANT IDENTIFICATION WALK-ABOUT: JENNIFER ANNE TUCKER

Join me for a walk-about and discover and identify how seasonal plants, bushes and trees of the area communicate their unique survival skills and how we can learn to partner with respect in preserving their habitat with ours, proper harvesting and preparation methods of wild foods and medicine plants growing around us. Together we co-create in ways to deepen our intuition, influence our physiology, and share soul with the vegetative “Green” beings. You already have everything within yourself to make this a reality!

ENERGIZE & UPLIFT: RACHEL MATEO

Rachel will be bringing you her HealthMood class “Energize and Uplift”, a bodyweight workout designed to efficiently and effectively work every muscle group with safe movements for all levels. Stations will be set up with various exercises requiring no equipment that will challenge you to work to your own personal best and have fun while doing it! Keeping these exercises handy for future reference can go a long way to shake up your own routine or enhance your walks at the park, optimizing your time outdoors!
